I'm running Hu-Go! 2.09 downloaded off the site here on my Athlon 2000+ machine. Games appear to run fine and far more stable than I ever achieved with the old Hugo or Magic Engine, but I can't get any of the options in the .ini file to make a difference. I specify, for instance, that I want video mode 5 for 800x600 and scanlines (I like my picture a little larger than the tiny box that it runs in by default) but neither have any impact. Nor does the change in joystick, sound quality, or any other functions.
I've tried renaming the hugo.ini file to hu-go!.ini as well, since the textfile indicates that this is the name of the actual .ini file, but this also doesn't have any effect.
Also, even when running from the dos prompt itself and typing in the appropriate command line options (-v 5 for instance) it doesn't seem to have any effect on the program running. Am I doing something completely wrong here?
