2.10 doing odd things |

I loaded up 2.10 and it seems to be booting roms just fine and all that, but once they start the controls go completely crazy- it seems to be pressing all the functional buttons at once by itself... not sure why.
Example- I try to run splatter house, and I get the title coming up for a split second, then the game starts right away- the guy moves about jitterily and punches and jumps while the game pauses every half second or so. No amount of configuration seems to help...
Any ideas as to what might be doing this?

Okay-
I got it calmed down a bit in that it isn't going insane now (something in the gamepad calibration didn't agree with things, but I straightened that out), but the pad doesn't seem to work 100%. I only get L/R motion, and only one button works... and when you hit that one button, it performs the functions for all the buttons (ex. in Splatter house, when I press the button, it pauses, punches, and jumps at the same time, playing out when I hit the button again to unpause it).
I have an InterAct ProPad Advanced. Any known issues with this particular pad, or is the gamepad support just not 100% there yet?
Thanks!

Hi,
which distribution do you run ?
Is jstest behaving normaly ? And what about other SDL programs ?
Did you run hugo with '-j 10000' the first time ?

I'm running 2.10 for windows on Win98. If it's possible to do jstest and the like on Win systems, I don't know how to do it (sorry!).
The stdout gives me
* PCE joypad 1: Microsoft PC-joystick driver, 2 axes, 6 buttons
So it is definitely finding the joypad ok.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Try starting hugo from a dos prompt with the -j1 option (-j1#### is only valid with the cvs I think). This should let you assign the correct buttons/axes for your gamepad. Then make sure to save your configuration after the GUI has popped up so you won't have to do that every time.

Hi all,
Im having the same problems as well. I think that I have same gamepad as mentioned in one of the threads. Only diagnal right/up and left/down work and all controls are mapped to one button. The -j1 option doesn't do anything. Is there a bug?
I want to play gradius and salamander real bad!
Great emu!
